How to read a contact sheet
The contact sheet is the most honest document in photography — a grid of every frame, good and bad, laid out without mercy.
Look for the quiet ones
Your eye lands on the loud frames first, but the keepers are usually the quiet ones — the pause between gestures, the hand mid-reach. Mark them even if you don't know why yet.
Trust the first pass
Circle fast, don't second-guess. The frames you remember are the ones worth printing. Everything else is data about how you see.
