Developing color
C-41 at 38°C, held steady to the half-degree. It's chemistry, not magic.
C-41, held steady
Color developing is less forgiving than black and white. The whole process runs at 38°C, and half a degree off shifts the color.
The sequence
1. developer 3:15 @ 38°C 2. blix 6:30 @ 38°C 3. wash 3:00 @ 38°C 4. stabilizer 1:00, no rinse 5. dry
Get a water bath
Keep your tank in a 38°C water bath and check the thermometer every thirty seconds. Consistency is the entire skill.
